Agape Beach Vacation 2010

Myrtle Beach, SC

The Agape "guys" are going on a vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Most of these men have been homeless or institutionalized most of their lives and have never had a loving family or a vacation. This is an opportunity for these mentally ill men, some who have never seen the ocean, not only to learn and experience what a loving family is all about, but to forget about the worries of life and to relax and have fun with their Agape family. Let’s face it. We all need a vacation sometimes. They deserve one too. We would like to ask for your help by sponsoring one resident or more if you are able. The cost for one man is $300. Nothing is too little or too large. Any and all donations are very much needed and appreciated. Agape is a 501c(3) non-profit corporation. Agape Outreach Homes vs. WBIR Channel 10 Heartbreakers

Thank you everyone so much for coming out and supporting Agape Outreach Homes. The "guys" had a blast! Agape won for the second year in a row. The score was 115 to 84. They held the winner's trophy high and sang all the way back home. It was truly an experience they will never forget.

Current and Future Projects:

• Storage Room/Bathroom/Screened Porch Project Phase I: A storage room in the upstairs at the Jacksboro Pike home will be taken down. The bathroom also in the upstairs will be completely remodeled. A new screened porch will be built and new seven new windows will be installed.
• Kitchen Remodeled: The kitchen at the Jacksboro Pike home needs its old cabinets removed and install new cabinets.
• Bath House: A bath house is slated to be constructed on the back of the Jacksboro Pike home. This will include multiple showers, sinks, toilets, and urinals.

The Agape Guys’ Activities:

• Knoxville Ice Bears Hockey Game: The Guys went to watch a live ice hockey game. They had lots of fun and ate plenty of game food.
• Hayride: The Guys went to Cades Cove and enjoyed a hayride. This was the first for most. Everyone learned alot about the area and got to see lots deer.
• Circus: The Guys went to the circus. They enjoyed seeing a man being shot out of a cannon, a motorcycle driven on a tightrope, clowns, and much more. Plus, eveyone loved having their own cotton candy.
