Agape Outreach Homes, Incorporated is a not-for-profit organization. We have been 501(c) 3 chartered since our inception in December, 1983. Agape is operated by a Board of Directors, who volunteer their time in this role. Harry Wade serves as our Board Chairman, and has served our Board for 7 years.

Benjamin Wethington serves as the Executive Director of Agape Outreach Homes. He has been involved with Agape since 1983. The heritage of care-giving which began with his mother Bobbye continues today with Benjamin, now at the helm of our day-to-day operations. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from New Life Bible College, and is a licensed minister. Having been "brought up" from childhood to adulthood in the unique environment of Agape, Benjamin has real-life experience and a compassion for the mentally ill that goes beyond a clinical approach, instead looking to create and maintain a "family" approach to treatment.


Brent Mathis serves as our Events and Fundraising Manager. A lifelong friend of the Wethingtons, Brent has worked with Agape for many years as a volunteer. Brent has a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management from the University of Tennessee and is a Certified Grant Writer. He works with Benjamin to help raise needed funds for our program, plan events and activities for our clients, and also serves as our Website Coordinator.
