About Us
Overview:
The original Agape Home opened in January 1983 on Garden Drive in the Fountain City area of Knoxville. The following year, two more facilities were added just a few blocks away, on Jacksboro Pike. The Jacksboro location was remodeled to include a common room, large enough for events and gatherings offered to our clients. This facility also contains our administrative offices.
In 2002, Agape opened its fourth home, on Fair Drive. Today Agape houses and cares for 31 clients in these separate locations. Each of these facilities is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities and undergoes announced and unannounced inspections. In addition, our homes are subject to the codes and inspections by local regulatory agencies such as the fire, health, building and zoning departments.
In 2003, Agape also purchased and remodeled four houses, two 2 bedroom, two 1 bedroom, to be used as independent living for persons with mental illnesses in our community. These homes are located on Essary Drive in Fountain City.
